Does Pogotravel put clients directly in touch with the property owner?

Pogotravel offers a service which allows holiday rental owners to advertise their rental property and helps potential travellers to find a suitable holiday rental property. To rent properties, you contact the owners directly using the email enquiry form or owner contact details provided with each rental property listing.

Does Pogotravel offer a rental management service to the owner?

Yes. Pogotravel does offer a rental management service. We will manage all the initial enquiries, emails and questions for your property from our call centre. We will handle the initial enquiry, take the booking and send out the owners specific documentation to their client. The client fully completes the booking form, returns it to Pogotravel along with their deposit which is then forwarded onto the owner and the booking is made.
Do I have to be a member to browse this site?

No. You are free to browse our site as much as you like to find the accommodation of your choice. If you register your details on our site we will keep you informed of any Special Offers, Newsletters, Competitions we have to offer.

How do I contact the Owners directly?

Pogotravel consists of a wide variety of holiday rental properties available directly from owners. Arrangements for rent are made directly with the owners. Each property listing includes the owners email address and telephone number. All inquiries should be sent to owner or Pogotravel. To email owners, click on email the owner at the bottom of the individual property details, fully complete the email enquiry form and click send. You can use this form to request a booking or ask questions about the property and its location. Always give the dates you are inquiring about and how many people are travelling in your party, adults and children. If you have elderly or disabled people travelling with you, or have any special needs ask if the property is suitable and has the correct facilities for your requirements. If you have a pet that you wish to bring along, be sure to ask the owners permission. Remember, most often you will be speaking to an owner or manager who knows the area very well and can be a very useful resource in helping you choose the right place for your next holiday as well as activities and attractions once you arrive.

Can I do a search to find accommodation that meets my specific holiday requirements?

Yes. Click on the Advanced Search, this allows you to break your search down by your individual criteria. Enter your search criteria in the boxes and press "Search ". You can use location name, and even search for specifics like walking, skiing, wheelchair friendly etc. More tips for searching can be found on the Advanced Search page.
Can I send the same enquiry to different property owners?
Yes, with our unique email enquiry form you can send the same email enquiry to 10 different property owners at once.  You can also short list any potential properties you would like to enquire about and come back to them once you have finished browsing the website.

If I contact a rental owner, am I obligated to rent from them?

No, but it is a good idea to have done your homework on the area and type of property you want to rent before you contact the Owner. Conversations with an owner can assist you in narrowing down your choices. When contacting owners, please be considerate about what time you are calling and be aware of time zone differences. If you call and get an answering machine, be sure to leave your name, number (clearly and slowly), email address, the dates you are inquiring about, the number of adults and children in your party and an appropriate time for them to return your call. Most owners will call you back.

Are the prices set or is there room for negotiation?

Most Owners are flexible on their pricing during certain times of the year. Some advertise discounts and special offers if they have not filled certain dates. If you inquire for a week that is not in the peak season then the owner may negotiate on price. In high season Owners generally stick to their prices as they can virtual guarantee bookings.

How do I make payment to the Owner?

Payments are made directly to the rental owner. Since each property is individually owned and operated, the payment methods and schedules will vary. Typically the owner will require a 10% - 60% deposit to secure the booking, then the balance will be paid between 6-10 weeks prior to departure date. On top of the rental payment most owners require a refundable security deposit to be held by the owner in case of any breakages or accidental damage. This security deposit is usually between £100 and £500 and returnable at the end of your holiday.  Cheques, Bacs payment, Credit cards or PayPal may  be the options of payment. Before you send any money (even the deposit) we recommend that you ask the owner about their terms & conditions & cancellation policies. It is best to have these policies in writing.

Are there extra fees beyond the nightly, weekly or monthly rental costs?

There are typically several additional fees beyond the nightly, weekly or monthly rental costs. These fees may include cot & high chair hire, z beds, welcome packs, extra cleaning, local taxes and the refundable security deposit. Also there maybe an extra charge for air conditioning , maid service, pool heating, electricity and gas. These additional fees will be mentioned in the Owners property description, however, you should confirm these fees with the Owner before paying your deposit.

What happens if I have to cancel my booking?

Each Owner has their own set of terms & conditions and cancellation policy but a general guidance to cancellations would be – the client remains liable for the following charges 49-69 days:  60%     36-48 days:  70%     22-35 days:  90%     0-21 days:  100%. If however your reason for cancellation is warranted you could claim your lost monies back through your travel insurance company.

What if something goes wrong while I am there?

Make sure that once you have confirmed your booking you obtain the full address of the property, directions on how to get there and local emergency/maintenance numbers of the owners or their on site representative or maintenance person. Remember to ask for any other information you may regard as useful or essential to allow your holiday to be a great success. If you do have a problem the owner should be able to get the problem resolved quickly and professionally.

How can I provide feedback on my holiday with the property Owner?

Owners really appreciate your feedback. Tell the Owner what you liked about the property, what you didn’t like, any suggestions for improvement or an observations you would like to make, it is the only way the Owner can improve upon his property for the next client. Some owners include testimonials within their listing so other potential clients can see your feedback. Do I have to clean the property before I leave?

Cleaning policies vary from property to property. In some cases you will have to clean the property yourself and wash the linens. In other cases, cleaning staff will come in and clean after you leave. Be sure to ask the owners the check-out policies for the property. Even if cleaning is provided, it is still expected that you leave the property in the way that you found it. In other words the cleaning staff generally does not do the dishes and clean up excessive messes. In either event, keep in mind that this is someone's home and they are holding your security deposit against any unnecessary damage or mess.

What currency are prices shown in? What currency can I pay in?

Price are typically shown in nightly/weekly ranges. Prices in the listing summaries are shown either £, euros or US Dollars for comparison purposes. Prices on the individual listings are shown in the currency of the property owner's choice as indicated on the listing. You should confirm the final price and currency of the payment with the owner before making your booking.
