Fabulous Holiday Villas in Spain

Filed under: Destination guides, Spain — admin1 @ 10:28 am

There are simply thousands of fabulous holiday villas in Spain to rent as well as other types of accommodation such as apartments, penthouses and fincas. There are holiday villas in Spain to suit all ranges of budget and taste. There are some great bargains to be found with cheap holiday villas and apartments and there is also the other end of the scale where you could pay into tens of thousands for a luxury villa in Spain to sleep many people.

Public transport in Spain really is quite easy and reliable as well as being very cheap. A journey from Malaga to Marbella for example, will cost you around 3-4 Euros. There are many beautiful white washed villages, laid back towns and bustling cities to be visited along the coast and inland. There is almost an unlimited choice of accommodation, especially in the low season months. These can range from huge holiday villas with private pools that cost thousands per week to more modest complexes where you can rent a holiday apartment for as little as 150 €per week!

The Spanish climate is temperate with there being over 300 days of sunshine a year on average. The people are generally relaxed and friendly, it is not unusual for total strangers to smile and say ‘hello’ when you pass them in the street. There are hundreds of blue flag beaches and these are often long and sandy. Even in the bust summer months, you can always find a quite, almost secluded spot somewhere along the coast. Most beaches have beach bars or ‘chiringuitos’ where the fish dishes are fresh and plentiful. They are great places to while away an afternoon soaking up the Spanish sun. There is also a full of range of both regional and international cuisine readily available.

There are more than 50 million foreign visitors to Spain each year. There are areas, mainly along the coast where the shops, bars and restaurants are largely geared towards the tourist market, however, travel inland just a few miles and you are likely to hear nothing but Spanish. There is often a breathtaking contrast between the narrow twisting old streets soaked in history and the daring modern architecture in many cities. You will often find spit-and-sawdust bars serving wine from the barrel rubbing shoulders with modern and chic bars and nightclubs as well as the all night discos!

Spain can be enjoyable at any time of the year. The ideal months to visit Spain and rent a holiday villa or apartment are May, June and September (plus April and October in the south). During these months you can rely on good-to-excellent weather, whilst avoiding the extreme heat of July and August as well as the main influx of both Spanish and foreign tourists. Plus you are more likely to find a cheap holiday villa in Spain during the lower season months. There is decent weather in some parts of Spain virtually all year round. Winter along the southern and south eastern Mediterranean coasts is generally quite mild while in the height of summer it can be unbearable. In these months, you can travel to the northwest instead, either to the beaches or mountain retreats. Either of these will be cooler than on the southern coast. Visiting Spain will almost certainly give you an experience that you will never forget and will want to re-live again and again.
