France is a Top European Destination

France is still at the top of the list when it comes to European destinations to visit. Regardless of what you’re looking for when deciding on where to go on holiday, France really does have it all. From fabulous holiday apartments to rent to luxury villas along the coast, there are simply thousands of properties to choose from to suit all budgets and tastes.

And speaking of taste, the country that gave the world champagne, brie and baguettes, France is renowned for its gastronomic greatness. There is great food to indulge in wherever you go, from the world class Michelin star restaurants in Paris to the little family run rustic cafes in the Loire Valley, you cannot fault the choice on offer, not to mention of course the other thing France is famous for, its excellent wines! However, while the world famous cooking is in itself a reason to visit and rent a holiday apartment in France, this country has much more to offer than it’s culinary delights.

There are the luxury yachts sailing in from the Med to marvel at down on the south coast or head north to Paris where you can pick up a designer label or two in the fabulous boutiques in between a spot of sightseeing. Even though when you say ‘French city’ most people immediately think of Paris, there is much more to this old fashioned yet forward thinking country. There are many wonderful regions, each with its own history and character and in every one there are properties available to rent.

There are also numerous spas in France. These range from the upmarket boutique hotels to the smaller spa villages. Both have relaxed and rejuvenated travellers since the days of the Ancient Romans. France may not be a huge country but it is bordered by two major waters; the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Within the miles of coastline, there are hundreds of beachfront apartments to rent as well as the more luxury apartments in France and villas that are also available.

Being situated in the epicentre of Europe, the border regions of France are often-overlooked treasures. By travelling to and fully exploring the country’s edges, you can see the influences of Germany, Italy, Belgium, Spain and Switzerland and you can also easily pop across the border to visit these countries as well, an added bonus of holidaying in France!

Venturing into one of the many wine regions in France such as Burgundy, Beaujolais and Bordeaux, you’ll find an expanse of beautiful landscape with quaint little gites or rustic farmhouses to rent as well as plenty of wineries to stop off at and sample the produce.

Down in the Southwest of France is the historic Basque region. Here you could easily mistake yourself for being over the border in Spain’s very own Basque country. The area has strong Spanish influences including the stark white washed buildings with contrasting dark coloured timbers, the intensely flavoured meat dishes in the local restaurants and not forgetting the Catalan language which has flowed across the border, connecting the two countries perfectly.

The Vendée which is along the west coast of France is ideal for families with its long sandy beaches; there are plenty of holiday apartments to rent on the coast here. For the more inquisitive traveller, then Brittany in the north is a good choice. Here you’ll find that the rocky coastline provides eager explorers with many rock pools to discover and sea side towns to wander. The country covers everything, from beaches, mountains and cities to snow capped peaks and the Loire Valley countryside, France makes an exciting holiday destination for all ages.

France is a country with many sides to its appeal. Whether you’re looking to find a holiday apartment to rent on the coast so you can laze on a sun baked beach in St Tropez, rent a luxury holiday apartment and take the kids Euro Disney in Paris, tour the vineyards of Bordeaux, be romanced in Paris or rent a holiday chalet so you can ski in the Alps, France definitely has it covered!
